The 2008 Muscatel Cask is a limited edition of only 1454 bottles of rare cask finished, cask strength (56.4 ABV) non chill-filtered Irish single malt. After maturing for almost eight years in oloroso sherry butts and bourbon barrels, Helen Mulholland, Master Blender at Bushmills Distillery finished the whiskey in rare muscatel casks. Permeated with wine made from the aromatic muscat grape, the oak imparts luscious ripe fruit notes and a deep sweetness.
